Role:

Evil Geniuses is looking for a results-oriented Vice President of Marketing to develop and lead the strategy, performance, and alignment of the organization’s marketing operations. This leader will develop and oversee the strategy for content development, public relations, digital marketing, events, and social media that is authentic to the Evil Genius brand.

This role will enact a cohesive brand marketing, social media, and digital content and communications strategy, to both keep core fandom engaged while also broadening the audience in accordance with our business priorities. This strategy also needs to be authentic to the Evil Genius brand by being on the forefront of connection their team to the current vision, driving our mission culture, and being able to manage through ongoing industry pivots.

Reporting into the CEO, the VP of Marketing will be an experienced and efficient leader with excellent people skills, business and brand acumen, and an exemplary work ethic who can work across all divisions of the company to maximize synergy opportunities. The ideal candidate knows how to grow for scale and depth, and has the experience building successful teams and representing and maintaining meaningful brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute short, mid and long-term marketing strategies for to drive brand development and awareness for Evil Geniuses as well as fan acquisition and engagement across its house of brands
  • Lead the marketing department, including the more esports bespoke areas in activations, merchandising, and fan-interfacing initiatives
  • Drive marketing leadership to create and execute winning and creative marketing strategies to drive profitable growth and lead generation of sponsorships or fandom
  • Push and execute cross-team collaboration to that stay true to the brand while leveraging our brand v. competitors
  • Evaluate team performance and expectations to determine that we have top performers within our company at all times
  • Strategically assess opportunities and make data driven decisions resulting in tangible improvements in performance, revenue diversification, and fan-acquisition
  • Define KPIs to measure campaign success and forecast performance to inform accurate forecasting & reporting
  • Develop the overall digital content strategy for numerous social media platforms and guide a consistent flow of content that results in high earned media value for the company
  • Oversee our internal influencer marketing group who both create campaigns on behalf of the company, as well as work with our partnerships sales team on branded content in order to increase earned media value for the company
  • Help manage all digital, print and marketing communication assets for the firm, including the website, social media, intranet, and collateral
  • Grow, and develop a dynamic marketing team through mentorship and leadership
  • Track benchmarks for marketing attribution and success including relevant dashboards and key performance metrics
  • Collaborate with marketing peers at other PEAK6 Investments firms to share resources, identify best practices and find efficiencies

  • Comfortable functioning in both leadership and contributor capacities to ensure maximum effectiveness and momentum
  • Proven team and project management skills enabling you to balance multiple deadlines to deliver campaign objectives
  • Strong understanding of content and PR for a multigenerational audience
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written content across a variety of formats (print, web media, presentations)
  • Event strategy and execution experience
